Aseptic conditions are critical for preventing infections during surgery. In our Instrument Pack & Prep room, surgical instruments are carefully washed using a medical instrument washer. The instruments are then placed in packs and sterilized in a steam autoclave or for items not able to handle high heat pressure, we have a plasma sterilizer. Once the packs have been sterilized, the packs are placed in surgery cabinets and are ready for use.
